Moviegator dead?

We've had no news of the streaming website Moviegator since May 28th.
As we think they won't be back, we decided to delete all the links to Moviegator's videos from our database. So, it makes 5,000 videos missing from Wide6.

But don't worry, there'll be many new websites in our database from July.

We didn't find any explanation for the disappearance of Moviegator. This website was pretty clean, fast and nice, so it's a shame.

Please contact us if you know something about that.

Cleaning dead links

April's report: about 12,000 dead links have been deleted from Wide6's database.

I think Wide6 needs to be updated twice a month now.

To conclude about the hacking of Wide6

After a few weeks of work, I think we can say that the matter is definitely closed with the hacking of Wide6.

Obviously no information has been stolen (there wasn't anything to steal anyway).

The hacker has just put links on some web pages. Thoses links automatically redirected visitors to disreputable websites. I've tested (using Firefox and Chrome) those websites which are classified as dangerous by Google, but no virus has been installed here. Unfortunately my test can't be a conclusive proof that no malware has been installed during the hacking of Wide6.

Since then our security has been reinforced (though we know that a infallible security can't be guaranteed).

So everything is back to normal. Wide6 is now more secure, no real damages in the end, but I advise you to use an antivirus like Avast (for example) to protect your computer.

Cleaning dead links

March's report: about 10,000 dead links have been deleted from Wide6's database.

In fact, videos are regularly deleted because of copyright infringement. So we have to update Wide6  by removing also those unavailable links as often as possible.

Wide6 and the law

The team of Wide6 wants to state that, as an hosting provider, Wide6 does respect the french 'LCEN' law (Loi pour la Confiance dans l’Economie Numérique).

So our task should not encroach upon other people's rights and property.

Consequently we are at your disposal if you want us to delete one or several video links which infringe the intellectual property or other of your rights.

We will satisfy your request as soon as we can.

This situation has already occured saveral times, and, each time, we did satisfy the requests of delete very quickly.

That's all. We just think this should be said.

Wide6 had been hacked

Today, February 26, at 5h15 GMT, Wide6 had been unfortunately hacked.

A moron added in Wide6's scripts a malicious piece of code which had redirected all the visitors to suspicious websites.

Apparently, the hacker found a security hole that I forgot to patch.
The problem was corrected by 11h GMT. Thus, during six hours, Wide6 had unintentionally endangered the browser of many visitors, and I really regretful about it.

So, again, I'm deeply sorry for all the people who were annoyed by this hack.
But now the problem is cleaned.

PornCor now on Wide6

Today, I added PornCor to Wide6's database.
Launched in August 2008, PornCor, with its 2,315 free videos, is a small but a good porntube website. 231 of those videos last more than 10 minutes, and 778 videos are over 5 minutes.

Now, I have to find the next porntube to add, and it's not going to be easy. So, if you have any idea, feel free to leave a comment. Thank you.
